About

Leah Lamb is dedicated to delivering the message that a sustainable future is possible. Leah was the founding online producer for the Green Channel at Al Gore’s television network where she produced, wrote, and hosted a weekly online green show, and blogged regularly. Her writing on the environment has been published on National Geographic News Watch, The Huffington Post, and the Discovery Channel’s Planet Green.  Lamb’s connection to the natural world comes from growing up on a farm in Vermont, and seven years as a wilderness guide in Alaska, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Minnesota, and Nepal where she worked on one of the first environmental expeditions on Everest (no she didn’t climb Everest, just got altitude sickness at Base Camp).
A believer in the power of media, Leah consulted for Active Voice, Strange Days on Planet Earth and American Blackout as their community engagement specialist on how to utilize film to motivate and mobilize audiences.
Leah has served on the advisory board of the National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation as their Arts and Dialogue Specialist, founded The Performance Initiative which was designed to utilize the arts for social change, and wrote and produced the award winning environmental Ecospot, “I Did Noth’n”.  When she isn’t staring at the computer trying to get the words to fit in the right place, she can be found throwing shoes over phone wires, bouncing on yoga balls, and instigating pillow fights.

    Leah,
I am so sad to hear abt Current. I am a fellow enviro journalist and prof of journalism. I am bringing students to the East Bay in two weeks to better understand green building, green reporting and environmental justice. Would you be willing to meet with us? Am happy to send my syllabus and you can learn more abt me at my Website.
Many thanks for considering the request.
